HAVANA, Cuba, May 27 (ACN) A low-intensity tornado was sighted on Monday in Boyeros municipality, in the vicinity of Havana's Jose Marti International Airport, according to Cuban meteorologist Elier Pila Fariñas, through his official X.
So far, no material damage or impacts have been confirmed.
The specialist shared an image of the meteorological phenomenon and specified that it was a "weak tornado" that briefly formed in the area.
These types of phenomena, although infrequent in the Cuban capital, are usually associated with intense thunderstorm fronts, which are common at this time of the year.
