Diaz-Canel attends opening of the International Convention Saber UH 2025

 

HAVANA, Cuba, May 26 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, attended today the opening of the International Scientific Convention Saber UH 2025, at the Karl Marx Theater, in Havana.

Eduardo Martinez Diaz and Ines Maria Chapman Waugh, deputy prime ministers of the country; Walter Baluja Garcia, minister of higher education; Susely Morfa Gonzalez, head of the department of attention to the social sector of the Central Committee of the Party, among other leaders, are accompanying the president.
The event, with nearly 3,000 delegates, among them a large Chinese representation, will take place on May 26-30.

It will feature a variety of activities in line with the 2030 Agenda in which topics on Sustainable Development will be discussed in key areas such as biotechnology and biomedical sciences, renewable energies, the environment and basic sciences, among others.

It also includes topics related to territorial development, higher education in the 21st century, economics, public administration, history, sociology, philosophy, law, public policies, cultural and heritage processes, graphic and industrial design and open science.

Saber UH represents a unique opportunity to foster interdisciplinary collaboration, promote scientific innovation and strengthen ties between researchers, academics and students from various disciplines, at a key moment for scientific and technological development in Cuba and the world.
