HAVANA, Cuba, May 16 (ACN) With the presence of Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the country, took place on Thursday, in the Protocol Hall El Laguito, the ceremony of state awards to members of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP by its Spanish acronym).
More than fifty representatives of the farming sector received the awards, among them two distinguished with the Honorary Title of Hero of Labor of the Republic of Cuba, the Order of May 17, the Romarico Cordero Medal and the Antero Regalado Distinction.
ANAP is about to celebrate its 13th Congress and thus commemorates the Day of the Cuban Farmer on May 17, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the assassination of the farmer Niceto Perez Garcia, the 66th anniversary of the signing of the Agrarian Reform Law by Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, and the 64th anniversary of the organization's constitution.
Manuel Marrero Cruz, Prime Minister; Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC; Ulises Guilarte de Nacimiento, Secretary General of the Cuban Workers' Federation; and Felix Duartes Ortega, National President of ANAP, among other leaders and guests, accompanied the President.
