Havana, May 7 (ACN) The 2025 Hurricane Season in the Northern Atlantic—June 1-November 30-- is expected to be active with some 15 tropical storms, eight of them could become hurricanes, according to the Cuban Meteorology Institute, INSMET.
Main Ocean and Atmospheric conditions regulating tropical storm activity in the Atlantic, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea will favor an active hurricane season, according to INSMET Facebook page.
Out the predicted number of storms, ten will form in the Atlantic, three in the Caribbean Sea and two in the Gulf of Mexico, the Institute noted in its forecast on the cyclone activity for 2025 in the Northern Atlantic.
The Institute predicts 75 percent probability for the formation and intensification of at least one hurricane in the Caribbean area, and 50 percent chance that a storm may develop in the Atlantic and enter the Caribbean region.
The weather service also alerted about 50 percent chance that Cuba could be hit by at least one hurricane.
