VARADERO, Cuba, Varadero, May 7 (ACN)Workshops, symposiums and conferences on scientific proposals for environmental balance in local ecosystems distinguish the program of the 12th International Scientific Convention of the University of Matanzas CIUM-2025, which kicked off today at the Plaza America Convention Center.
During the opening of the event, in which nearly 500 delegates from countries such as Cuba, Colombia and Brazil are participating; it was explained that the presentations address the challenges for agriculture and sustainable tourism; innovation and educational inclusion development and business and public management.
Leyda Finale de la Cruz, rector of the University of Matanzas (UM), urged to turn these conferences into opportunities for collaborative projects that strengthen strategic sectors such as food production, transportation and tourism from the scientific point of view.
Finale de la Cruz described the convention as an excellent opportunity to turn scientific discourse into tangible solutions, a meeting for creation and teaching.
The conference The space of the academic sector in industrialization 4.0, by PhD. Agustin Lage Davila, opened the scientific program with a presentation proposing business plans, financing strategies and possible markets for the benefit of the economic sustainability of companies.
This first day of CIUM 2025 was attended by PhD. Reynaldo Velazquez Zaldívar, Vice Minister of Higher Education.
