Havana, May 6 (ACN) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez rejected recent accusations by US-based anti-Cuba circles and media outlets about an alleged Chinese military base in Cuba.
The only foreign military base in Cuba is in the illegally occupied Cuban territory of Guantanamo, said the minister pointing to the Naval Base the US maintains in that easternmost section of the island against the will of the Cuban people.
Rodriguez wrote on X https://tinyurl.com/5n7phc39 that such allegations are false accusations recycled and promoted by anti-Cuban thinktanks, media outlets and politicians with scarce credibility.
On Tuesday, the US House of Representatives’ Transportation and Maritime Security Subcommittee addressed the issue of an alleged military collaboration between China and Cuba.
In July 2024, Cuban deputy foreign minister Carlos Fernandez de Cossio rejected a Wall Street Journal report https://shorturl.at/3mKEz on what they called Chinese spy bases in Cuba, by calling it an intimidation campaign against the island nation.
In June 2023, Fernandez de Cossio described as mendacious and unfounded a similar WSJ publication about an alleged Cuba-China military accord to set up an eavesdropping station on the island.
