Cuban transport minister denies fake news about suspension of transportation in Havana

HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 25 (ACN) Eduardo Rodriguez Davila, Cuban Minister of Transport, assured that there is NO suspension of the bus service in Havana, although transportation is very limited, mainly due to the technical and fuel availability.

On his official Facebook page, the minister denounced the fake news published on social networks, attributed to transportation authorities, about the elimination of the service in the early hours of the morning in Havana.

Rodriguez Davila announced that during these days 63 buses that were inactive have been recovered with the acquisition of tires and batteries.

At the same time, he added, vital parts and pieces are arriving in the country from China for the integral repair of 100 buses of the city's public transportation system, among other actions.

The minister also referred to aggressions against public transport vehicles, and stressed that when they occur they are usually rigorously confronted in the country.

"Those who get involved in these acts do not stop for a second to measure the consequences of their actions, they lose sight of the fact that their own lives are at stake, as well as those of the passengers and drivers, just to mention the most important," he remarked.

Rodriguez Davila announced that he will go into more detail on this matter in a future publication, although he said that the perpetrators of this type of acts have the maximum repudiation of the people and that they will be punished in accordance with the sanctions that such acts deserve.
