HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 16 (ACN) The joint venture Proxcor S.A., made of the companies Proxenta (Slovakia) and Coralsa (Cuba), created “Guaní”, a new cereal production line intended to replace imports.
“Guaní” is a natural cereal free of preservatives or artificial additives which is made with 100% Cuban raw materials such as honey, cocoa, coconut or peanuts and comes in environmentally friendly packages.
Proxcor S.A. general manager Zuzana Skolárová pointed out that their plan is to meet the demand for cereals in Cuba’s tourism sector, as they are not produced in the island and have to be imported mainly from Spain and Mexico.
According to Alejandro Castellanos, director of marketing and exports, the company hires foreign experts, but the recipe stems from a new entirely Cuban formula already advertised in social networks and addressed in studies on Latin America and the Caribbean with a view to its safe marketing in the region and elsewhere.
“Guaní” was presented at Hotel Nacional de Cuba in a ceremony where the hotel chains Cubanacán and Gran Caribe signed agreements to provide the product in their facilities.
