HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 15 (ACN) Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), recognized today the role of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) in the revolutionary process, in a complex scenario where the enemy expects the people to surrender.
There is no talk of unity if there is no talk of the CDRs, said Morales Ojeda at the 4th Plenary Session of the National Directorate of the largest mass organization in the country, held on Tuesday at the Ñico Lopez Party University, in Havana.
While intervening in the debate in which the work of the CDRs was highlighted and how much remains to be done in times when unity is a priority, he stressed that the political-ideological work is carried out in a correct way in the places where things are done well and the organization has a notorious presence.
The CDRs are decisive in all the plans that are carried out at the country level, he affirmed in the meeting, also headed by Ernesto Santiesteban Velazquez, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and head of the Department of Attention to the Young Communist League and mass organizations; Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo, national coordinator of the CDRs, among other members of the National Secretariat.
Hernandez Nordelo called to define strategies to solve the pending issues within the CDRs and to show the advances in the next meetings.
In the plenary session, several provinces were recognized for their work in the first quarter of the year; Ciego de Avila was the vanguard territory, while Santiago de Cuba and Guantanamo were highlighted.
With 79 participants, for more than 90 %, the 4th Plenary Session of the National Directorate of the CDRs ratified the commitment with the Homeland and with the highest leaders of the Cuban Revolution.
