HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 6 (ACN) It is with deep regret that our people have learned of the passing of comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.
During his long and outstanding political and revolutionary career, comrade Khamtay Siphandone strived to strengthen the links of friendship, solidarity and trust between our Parties, Governments and peoples.
For such reason, the Cuban Government declared an Official Mourning from 6:00 a.m. on April 5 until 12:00 midnight on April 6, 2025, during which the Cuban flag will be hoisted at half-mast in public buildings and military institutions.
