HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 4 (ACN) Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Deputy Prime Minister of Cuba, received Dmitry Nikolaevich Chernyshenko, Vice President of the Russian Federation Government, this Friday in the Cuban capital. Chernyshenko arrived on Wednesday night at the Antonio Maceo Grajales International Airport in Santiago de Cuba.
The two leaders will co-chair the XXII Meeting of the Russian-Cuban Intergovernmental Commission for Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technical Collaboration, which will take place this Friday in the protocol halls of El Laguito.
Present at the welcoming ceremony were ministers and other high-ranking officials from both nations, who will participate in the talks. The meeting will conclude with the signing of the session's minutes.
The agenda of the Russian Vice President includes meetings with Cuban State and Government leaders, in line with efforts to strengthen the excellent state of intergovernmental relations.
During his stay in Santiago de Cuba, the Russian leader and his delegation paid tribute to Commander in Chief Fidel Castro, National Hero José Martí, and Carlos Manuel de Céspedes and Mariana Grajales, the Father and Mother of the Nation, respectively.
Chernyshenko’s visit takes place in the year marking the 65th anniversary of the reestablishment of diplomatic relations between the former Soviet Union and Cuba.
