SANTIAGO DE CUBA, Cuba, Apr 3 (ACN) Vice President of the Government of the Russian Federation, Dimitri Chernishenko, arrived in this city to begin an official visit to Cuba.
Mr. Chernishenko was received by Central Committee member Beatriz Jhonson Urrutia, first secretary of the Communist Party in the province, and other local political and government leaders.
During his stay in Santiago de Cuba, the Russial official will meet with local authorities and pay homage to the Historical Leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro Ruz at the Santa Ifigenia patrimonial cemetery.
Russia and Cuba are united by long-standing and close ties of friendship, which have been strengthened through mutual cooperation based on solidarity.
