HAVANA, Cuba, Apr 1 (ACN) Cuba’s aviation entities presented their special program to the III International Transport and Logistics Fair “FITL 2025” with a view to sharing views, discuss technologies and establishing alliances bound to improve related services and infrastructures.
According to Joel Beltrán Archer Santos, president of Corporación de la Aviación Cubana S.A. (CACSA), the development of airport infrastructure has been a key issue in recent years, given Cuba’s interest in upgrading its facilities for the benefit of tourism, trade, and international connectivity.
The island counts on 10 international airports which require constant modernization, so CACSA and its enterprises are permanently working to improve operational safety and efficiency based on development projects for runways and platforms and investments to increase airport capacity.
The official also remarked that these plans face challenges such as the financial limitations imposed by the U.S. blockade, internal crises, and the lack of spare parts and technology.
