Cuban Transport Fair Offers Chance for New Deals



Havana, April 1 (ACN) Havana’s International Transport and Logistics Fair offers a chance for new deals to improve local transportation services, said Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero as he opened the three-day event on Tuesday.

Marrero told reporters that although enemies of the Cuban Revolution use social media to say that the fair is nonsense, the event not only reveals local efforts to maintain transportation services and deal with their current slump.

This is a very sensitive issue affecting society and the economy, with the public transportation services still facing serious difficulties, but actions are underway to improve the technical conditions of current transport means and introduce new ones.

The implementation of deals reached in previous fairs about the purchase of ambulances, ecological and electric vehicles proves the importance of this kind of events, the Premier noted.

In his opening remarks of the fair, attended by exhibitors from 130 local and foreign companies, Transportation Minister Eduardo Rodriguez that meeting the people’s mobility needs is the main point on his agenda and that includes the recovery of the public passenger transportation service.
