Cuban authorities detect 2l6 violations in nationwide anti-crime exercise

 

NUEVA GERONA, Cuba, Apr 1 (ACN) From March 24 to 28, 216 violations were detected in the Special Municipality of Isle of Youth as part of the National Exercise for the Prevention and Confrontation of Crime, illegalities, social indiscipline, drug trafficking and abusive commercial practices.

This initiative, which was developed throughout the country, aims to strengthen security and order in society.

The most common irregularities identified include the transportation of passengers without proper documentation for Self-Employed Workers, as well as the possession of outdated or expired documents.

Price infractions, commercialization of products without displaying clear prices, speculative prices and food sales without the corresponding Animal Health certification were also reported.

During the control actions in the public and private sectors, 213 fines were imposed, which generated a total income of 963,381 pesos to the State budget.

A total of 10 inspection bodies, representing different companies and local organizations, participated in these tasks, which totaled 1,156 surveys. Among the entities involved were the Electric Company, the Municipal Transportation Department, the Agricultural Delegation and the Cuban Workers' Central.

In addition, 40 control actions focused on banking, as well as community debates on drug consumption were carried out in six Popular Councils. These meetings had the collaboration of representatives of Public Health, the Ministry of the Interior, Education and local media.

Yainel Pacheco Casero, member of the municipal bureau of the Communist Party of Cuba in Isla de la Juventud, emphasized the importance of maintaining permanent control and supervision activities.

During the work session, the official stressed the need to involve all workers in the internal control of their entities and to make the population aware of the relevance of closing ranks before any manifestation of crime or social indiscipline.
