Angolan and Cuban Prosecutors' Offices sign cooperation program

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 30 (ACN) The Angolan Attorney General's Office (PGR) and the Cuban Attorney General's Office signed a cooperation program for the technical and professional development of magistrates in 2025-2027, Jornal de Angola reported today.

The agreement was signed in Havana by the Angolan Attorney General, Hélder Pitta Gróz, and his Cuban counterpart, Yamila Peña.

Since June 2013, both institutions have had a framework agreement designed to strengthen the technical and professional development of magistrates and other specialists in various fields, including crime prevention and the fight against crime.

The Angolan prosecutor, who attended the XVI International Meeting on Criminal Law and the IV Conference “Legality, Law and Society” in Havana, invited Ms. Peña to participate in the International Conference on Cybercrime, to be held in Angola this year.

During his speech at the said meeting in Cuba, Mr. Pitta Gróz addressed issues such as the measures to tackle money laundering and terrorist financing, cryptocurrency mining, and the cyber-attacks against financial systems.

He also praised the importance of international cooperation to face the challenges posed by globalized crime, which is one of the topics to be discussed at the conference in Angola.
