Diaz-Canel visits the National Biopreparations Center in the western region of the country

 HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 21 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, visited the National Center for Biopreparations (BioCen) as part of a tour of the province of Mayabeque.

As reported by the Presidency on X, the President learned that the entity, in the municipality of Bejucal, has consolidated itself as one of the main institutions within the Cuban biopharmaceutical industry.

The President was informed that BioCen has become the productive outlet for important results of the scientific-technical work of prestigious entities such as the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the Center for Molecular Immunology.

Tamara Lobaina Rodriguez, director of the center, showed Diaz-Canel the main productions of the entity, which along with medicines and biotechnological products include dietary and food supplements from BioCubaFarma.

Upon his arrival in the municipality of Bejucal, he talked with Bejucaleños who came to greet him at the downtown Maceo- Gomez Park and went to the lands of producer Angel Pajon, president of the Jose Marti Credit and Services Cooperative, who is engaged in livestock and rice production.

The head of state celebrated the performance of the farmer, who has achieved yields of up to four tons per hectare with the use of agro-ecological inputs and aspires to continue growing in arable land to increase the volumes of the cereal, which he delivers to social consumption and to the population of the municipality.
