International Colloquium Patria continues at the University of Havana

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 18 (ACN) With a program focused on the role of the media in the cognitive war, social networks, artificial intelligence and education and media literacy of citizens, the 4th International Colloquium Patria will continue today in Havana its program for the exchange of counter-hegemonic communicative experiences.

For this day, among other points, a special lecture by Freddy Ñañez, Minister of People's Power for Communication and Information of Venezuela, and panels made up of high-impact communicators and activists such as the former Spanish MEP Javier Couso Permuy, the Colombian congresswoman Maria Fernanda (Mafe) Carrascal Rojas, and the Argentinean ticktoker and communist activist Bruno Lonatti, among others, are scheduled for this day.

In parallel to the main lectures, a Communication Exhibition Fair of the countries of the South will take place at several sites of the University of Havana, venue of the event, with presentations of communication experiences in different parts of the world, and theoretical workshops on the hegemonic crisis of extreme right-wing ideologies and the manifestations of neo-fascism in Latin America, among other initiatives.

On Monday night, homage was also paid to the multinational channel Telesur in the transforming neighborhood of El Avioncito, in the capital municipality of La Lisa, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of its foundation by Commanders Fidel Castro Ruz and Hugo Chavez Frias, a milestone to which the event is dedicated.
