Cuban Prime Minister on Official Visit to Congo



Havana, March 17 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero arrived in the Congolese capital Brazzaville on Monday to pay a two-day official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral political, economic, commercial and cooperation relations.

Marrero was welcomed to Maya-Maya international airport by his Congolese Premier Anatole Collinet Makosso.

The Cuban Prime Minister thanked Congo for its support of Cuba’s struggle against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade and recalled the deep roots of friendship between the two nations.

The Cuban head of government is accompanied by Health Minister Jose Angel Portal; deputy minister for Foreign Trade and Investment Deborah Rivas; the general director for Multilateral Affairs at the Cuban Foreign Ministry Carlos Miguel Pereira and Cuban ambassador to Congo Indira Napoles.

Manuel Marrero is scheduled to hold official talks with his Congolese counterpart and also meet with President Denis Sassou-N’Guesso.
