Havana, March 10 (ACN) The Cuban Worker’s Confederation called for massive marches island wide on May 1st to celebrate International Workers Day and to ratify the Cuban workers’ conviction that the people’s unity, unconditional resistance and will to improve their common work, will always guarantee their victory.
The main rally and march will take place May 1st at Havana’s Jose Marti Revolution Square, while other demonstrations will be held in all Cuban provinces.
The action will mark the 130th anniversary of the start of the Cuban Independence War against Spanish Rule on February 24th, 1895; it will also recall the 86th year of the setting up of the Workers’ Confederation and the 66th anniversary of the Triumph of the Cuban Revolution.
Demonstrators will demand the lifting of the over-60 US economic, commercial and financial blockade of the island nation, which has been reinforced in recent day wit new measures imposed by the Donald Trump administration, such as the relisting of Cuba as a state sponsor of terrorism, which affect the welfare of the people, workers and their families.
The marchers will also reject the Israeli genocide against the Palestinian people.
The Cuban Workers Confederation’s Call to the march stresses that Cubans will celebrate the world proletariat’s day with colorful and active marches to reiterate their support of the Cuban Revolution.
