Havana, March 10 (ACN) A large delegation from Zimbabwe is attending the Global Youth Summit (GYS) taking place in the Varadero tourist district, March 11-13, organized by the International Telecommunication Union and the Cuban Communication Ministry.
The Zimbabwean delegation, which includes directives and officials, is headed by deputy minister for Information, Communication and Technology Dingumuzi Phuti, and by the director general of that country’s Post Office and Telecommunication Regulatory Authority Gift Machengete, according to a report by PL news agency.
The Zimbabwean government head by President Emmerson D. Mnangagwa prioritizes the telecommunications sector as part of the nation’s development plan till 2030. In this regard, Zimbabwe started to built a Cyber City and develops the program of young ambassadors with digital abilities.
The summit focuses on the increasing participation of young generations in the field of information technologies and telecommunications to secure a more inclusive and connected future.
