The new site is located in the Cuatro Caminos Popular Council, in the municipality of Cotorro, where once it is in operation, it will generate 21.8 megawatts per day and will represent a saving of more than eight thousand tons of diesel per year.

At the opening ceremony of the facility, together with Díaz-Canel, were the Commander of the Revolution Ramiro Valdés, the main authorities of the capital; Vicente de la O Levy, Minister of Energy and Mines, and Hua Xin, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China in Cuba.

Also in attendance were executives and workers from the Unión Eléctrica and the entities that participated in the assembly and construction of the park, among them the Blas Roca contingent, for whose outstanding work in this mission they received diplomas of recognition from Díaz-Canel.
The recovery of the national electro-energy system includes improvements in power plants, wind farms and many other tasks included in the Government Plan approved for this purpose.

In accordance with the national energy transition strategy, 92 wind farms are expected to be installed by 2028, which will provide more than 2,000 Megawatts (MW) of power, according to Cuban authorities.
