HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 14 (ACN) The Ministry of Labor and Social Security informed Thursday night that, taking into account the energy situation facing the country, and with the aim of contributing to the necessary savings in electricity consumption to mitigate the effects on the population, it has been decided to suspend during the next February 14 and 15 the teaching and work activities that are not essential under the current conditions.
The announcement clarifies that, as usual in these cases, basic services to the population will be maintained.
Likewise, workers who do not attend work as a result of this situation will receive protection equivalent to the scale salary of the position they hold, in accordance with the provisions of the Labor Code.
