HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 11 (ACN) Cuban ambassador to Vietnam, Rogelio Polanco, and the director of the Department of Publications, Printing and Distribution of that Asian country, Nguyen Nguyen, exchanged today on the potentialities to promote bilateral cooperation in the publishing industry.
The meeting at the headquarters of the Cuban state mission was also attended by the Vietnamese delegation that will attend the 33rd edition of the International Book Fair (FIL by its Spanish acronym) in Havana, Prensa Latina reported.
According to the information, Polanco highlighted the publishing production capacity achieved by Vietnam and commented that there are high expectations with the presence, again, of a representation of that country in the FIL, which, he said, will help to strengthen ties in this sector.
Cuban ambassador also stressed the need to have publishing projects that recall the Year of Vietnam-Cuba Friendship, which is celebrated by the sixty-fifth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
Nguyen, for his part, recalled his participation in the 2020 FIL, which was dedicated to Vietnam, and noted that he was impressed not only by the scope of the Fair, but also by the love of the Cuban people for the Vietnamese nation.
He noted that the presence of a delegation from his country this year will be a good opportunity to promote cooperation, not only with the Cuban Book Institute, but also between different publishing houses.
The director of Vietnam's Department of Publications, Printing and Distribution ratified the commitment to collaborate with the Cuban side in the facilitation of copyrights.
Nguyen also suggested that, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, a mini-exhibition of books reflecting the development of these ties be organized at the headquarters of the Cuban state mission.
