HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 5 (ACN) In a post on X, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MINREX) explained that the current formalities to authenticate documents remain valid regardless of the assumption of this process by the Ministry of Justice (MINJUS).
As is usual, applicants should keep going to specialized law and consultancies firms, said Ana Teresita Gonzalez, general director of Consular Affairs and Services to Cubans Living Abroad (ACCRE) in a publication shared by MINREX.
As of this week, MINJUS takes over the proceedings hitherto carried out by MINREX to authenticate Cuban and foreign documents to serve as formal evidence in the island and elsewhere.
Gerardo Peñalver Portal, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, pointed out that the transfer is part of a number of structural measures designed to streamline and facilitate the said authentication formalities in registry offices, law and consultancy firms.
