HAVANA, Cuba, Feb 5 (ACN) To Lam, general secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (PCV), thanked Cuba for its affection for his nation, especially on the occasion of the political organization's anniversary.
Vietnam’s mainstream media highlighted To Lam's message to President Miguel Díaz-Canel in a conversation that both leaders held over the phone Tuesday and during which the Cuban head of state sent the Asian country warm greetings on behalf of the Communist Party, the Cuban people, and Army General Raúl Castro Ruz.
In a post on X, Diaz-Canel remarked that they also agreed to keep working tirelessly to implement the agreements signed during To Lam's visit to Havana and praised Vietnam’s achievements under the leadership of the VCP, which he referred to as "a shining example of the revolutionary movement of international communism".
To Lam also congratulated Díaz-Canel on the 66th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution and reaffirmed Vietnam's support to the United Nations General Assembly resolutions calling for an end to the hostile U.S. Cuba policy.
Likewise, both leaders agreed to organize commemorative actions and popular exchanges during the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Year 2025, and To Lam invited the Cuban President to visit his nation again this year.
