VI International Conference For World Balance to hold Open Science Symposium



 HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 29 (ACN) A symposium called Open Science for equity: priorities and challenges in the current international scenario, to be held today as part of the VI International Conference For World Balance, features a special presentation by Luis Velazquez Perez, president of the Cuban Academy of Sciences and main promoter of the two-day event, titled “Science in Cuba: achievements and prospects”.

Also included in the program are a discussion about Educational Revolution led by the president of the Marcelino Muñoz Foundation “Propósito de Vida”, National Literature Award, Mexico City, 2019, and member of the National Coordinator for the Transformation of Education, and the presentation “For the sake of the new era of science for social justice - Global Multilateral Cooperation” by Marek Hrubec, PhD and Senior Researcher of the Global Studies Association of the Czech Republic.

Likewise, there will be panels and interventions by delegates from Colombia, Mexico, Cuba, Brazil and Slovakia on topics such as social justice for afro-descendant women; the link between science, technology and innovation and public policies; open science in times of change; bioethics, equity and solidarity; and the role of social networks and digital technologies in cross-cultural relations, among others.

The symposium will close with the lecture "Open Science and the challenges facing developing countries", by ScD Olga Fernández Ríos, a senior researcher with the Institute of Philosophy and vice-president of the Cuban Academy of Sciences.
