Havana, Venue of International Forum for World Balance



 Havana, Jan 28 (ACN) Over 600 representatives from 98 countries have flocked to Havana to attend the 6th International Congress for World Balance, underway at the local Conventions Palace.


In the presence of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel, the coordinator of the event’s organizing committee, Hector Hernandez said that the forum is being attended by 400 Cuban researchers, activists and professors, whose lectures on issues like solidarity, peace, international economic order and current challenges, will be at the center of attention over the next few days.

In today’s irrational and unsustainable world, the alternative is to instill ideas and awareness, said the executive.

Holy Sea apostolic nuncio Antoine Camilleri read a message sent in by Pope Francis stressing hope as a call to all good-will people. Hope shows as a very appropriate value in this forum and thanks to its aspiration to be an open, plural and multidisciplinary conference, it can address the reasons moving the heart of today’s man, the Pope’s letter reads.

Venezuelan Culture minister Ernesto Villegas said that Jose Marti and Simon Bolivar urged for world balance, and he noted that fascism and neo-fascism are returning today as it showed in Palestine. Villegas stressed that all human beings are equal.

The vice-president of Russia’s State Duma Dimitry Georgievich recalled the emancipatory ideas of Jose Marti and stressed that Marti’s vision of what he called Our America is fully valuable today.

During the opening session of the Conference representatives of organizations from Rwanda, Japan, Laos, Guyana, Hungary, France and Italy also address the meeting.

The 6th International Conference on World Balance will run till January 31st.
