HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 24 (ACN) Army General Raul Castro Ruz, leader of the Cuban Revolution, and Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, President of the National Defense Council, paid a visit on Thursday to the Western Army Command Post, as part of the activities being carried out in the second stage of the Bastion 2024 Strategic Exercise.
According to the presidential website, Major General Ernest Feijoo Eiro, Chief of the Western Army, explained the main activities carried out in the interest of the armed struggle and the defense of the Western Strategic Region.
The participation of the people in defense tasks as an essential principle of the Cuban military doctrine of the All People's War was also among the topics discussed.
According to the source, members of the National Defense Council and the main chiefs of the Revolutionary Armed Forces and the Ministry of the Interior also participated in the meeting.
