MATANZAS, Cuba, Jan 22 (ACN) During her visit to the University of Matanzas in the context of the celebrations for Haiti’s 221 years of independence on January 1st, Vichy de la Fayette Thibeaud, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Haiti in Cuba, stated her country’s intention to strengthen cooperation links with higher education centers.
The diplomat, who also visited the province of Matanzas last November, highlighted the key role that national roots play in cultural education and the need to salvage the heritage that both countries share.
Laura Becalli Puerta, director of International Relations of the University of Matanzas, presented her guest with the portfolio of services and programs offered by the school, including its undergraduate, short-cycle, and postgraduate courses.
Ms. De la Fayette, who described her visit as promising, thanked her hosts for receiving her as part of an initiative to bridge gaps, raise awareness among citizens, and consolidate the bonds of friendship between Haiti and Cuba.
