Cuba’s “War of all people” doctrine remains in force

 HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 22 (ACN) Originally planned for November last year as part of the country's preparedness for defense but postponed to 2025 due to hurricanes Oscar―in the east―and Rafael―in the west―as well as to earthquakes in Eastern Cuba, the strategic exercise Bastion 2024 will start today throughout the nation until January 24.

The purpose of the drills is to train the chiefs and commanders of the various structures in charge of national and regional defense with a view to upgrading the country's combat readiness for defense and the preparedness of soldiers and citizens in order to face up to any action by the enemy.
Tuesday’s University Student Bastion was a preliminary to the exercise which became an expression of the role played by young people in the defense of the Homeland.

During the Bastion 2024 and the National Defense Day, to be held on Saturday 25, there will be maneuvers and tactical drills engaging units of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior and branches of the regional defense system, so there will be movements of troops and war material as well as flights of military aircraft, and explosions may be felt throughout the country.

The Strategic Exercise Bastion 2024 is a key element in the realization of our doctrine of the War of All People.
