Cuba’s largest mass organization decries new U.S. isolationist strategy

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 21 (ACN) The National Executive Secretariat of the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) issued a statement condemning the inclusion of Cuba in the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism.
Below is the full text of their message.

Statement by the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution!

The Cuban cederistas, protagonists for almost 65 years of the fight against terrorist actions supported by the U.S. itself, categorically condemn the inclusion of Cuba in the list of state sponsors of terrorism in the world, approved by the current U.S. administration.

Our more than seven million members repudiate this new strategy of isolation, an offshoot of the economic, commercial and financial blockade that the empire has imposed on the island for more than 60 years.

The CDRs ratify the Declaration of our country stating that "This new act of aggression by the government of the United States against the Cuban people shows once again the true, cruel, merciless goals of this and so many other measures of siege and suffocation applied against Cuba for purposes of domination”.

It is hardly surprising that the Donald Trump administration has ratified the foolish argument that terrorists find save heaven in the island to put us in this notorious list, nothing but an absurdity, considering that we Cubans have long been the victims of terrorist acts concocted, funded, supervised and encouraged by the United States itself.

In the year of their 65th anniversary, the CDRs are more united and combative than ever and endorse the Declaration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs demanding the immediate exclusion of Cuba from the list of "State sponsors of international terrorism".
