HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 19 (ACN) In a post on X, the Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) highlighted that Cuba and the Republic of Korea reasserted their willingness to develop ties of friendship and cooperation for the benefit of both countries and reposted a publication about the opening of the Embassy of South Korea on January 17, almost a year after the two nations established diplomatic relations (February 2024) in line with the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations, International Law, and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961.
Carlos Manuel Pereira, general director of MINREX Bilateral Affairs, and Lee Joo Il, general director of the Central and South American Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, attended the were present at the ceremony held at the time.
