HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 17 (ACN) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, appeared today before the diplomatic corps, with the purpose of sharing information related to the decision of the US government announced last January 14.
The foreign ministry informed on its website that the head of Cuban diplomacy reiterated that this is a decision in the right direction and in line with the sustained and firm claim of the government and the people of Cuba, despite its limited and late nature.
He stressed that the economic blockade and a good part of the dozens of coercive measures that were put into effect since 2017 to tighten it still remain in force, with full extraterritorial effect and in violation of International Law and the human rights of all Cubans.
The occasion was an opportunity to express gratitude for the broad, emphatic and reiterated call for Cuba's exclusion from the list of state sponsors of terrorism by numerous governments, Cubans living abroad, political, religious and social organizations, and numerous political personalities in the United States and other countries.
