Diaz-Canel toured important sites for the people in eastern region of the country

 

LAS TUNAS, Cuba, Jan 17 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, arrived today in Las Tunas province with the aim of checking works of notable economic and social importance for this eastern Cuban province.

The president began his visit at the People's Council Three, in the Alturas de Buena Vista neighborhood, where a remarkable social transformation is taking place with actions in communal services and the repair of medical offices, schools and warehouses.

Accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the Party, the work agenda also included the El Rincon Pumping Station, a place that received a civil and technological rehabilitation of the water supply system for the benefit of 125,000 residents.

Diaz-Canel also checked the recovery of the Melanio Ortiz agricultural and livestock center in the municipality of Jobabo, once one of the most important in the province.

Las Tunas is the third stop of the tour of the country's territories, which resumed on Thursday in the western provinces of Pinar del Rio and Artemisa, as part of a work system that began in January 2024.
