Havana, Jan 15 (ACN) The president of the Cuban National Assembly of People’s Power (Cuban Parliament) Esteban Lazo met on Wednesday with members of the Canada-Cuba Friendship Parliamentary Group at Havana Capitol Building, seat of the island’s legislative body.
The secretary of the Cuban Parliament Homero Acosta and directives of the legislative body’s permanent commissions also welcomed the Canadian delegation.
In October 2024, the Canadian group held its Annual General Session to address the state of relations between the two parliaments.
The meeting in Havana set up an executive committee co-chaired by Canadian lawmaker Gabriel Ste-Marie and the senator Nancy Hartling.
This year, Cuba and Canada will mark the 80th anniversary of their bilateral relations.
