Central American Cuba solidarity brigade reasserts its support

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 14 (ACN) The II Central American Cuba Solidarity Brigade, made up of activists from Costa Rica, El Salvador, Honduras and Panama, ended Tuesday a 10-day stay in the island by ratifying the purpose of multiplying its actions in the current year.

In a Final Declaration, the 13 members of the group pledged to promote unity and to strengthen and broaden the scope of the solidarity movement to consolidate an anti-imperialist front in the region, and demanded the end of the U.S. blockade and of all policies intended to asphyxiate the economy and the development of Cuban society, in violation of International Law.

The document adds that the Central American activists will join the global project Marathon of Love for Cuba, promoted by the Latin American and Caribbean network of solidarity with Cuba and just causes, which will be in effect until December 30, 2025, date of the 65th anniversary of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), whose president Fernando González Llort thanked the brigadistas for their solidarity and efforts to defray their trip to Cuba to express their support on site.

Cuba will welcome another solidarity brigade next week, namely the XXX South American brigade, with 85 members from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, as well as from Spain, who will stay in the country until February.
