Cuban authorities praise electrical workers on their day

 

HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 14 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, sent today a greeting to the workers of the National Electroenergy System (SEN), on the occasion of the Electric Workers' Day.

For the heroic electrical workers who face every day the precariousness of the plants and the destruction caused by every meteorological event, congratulations on their day, said the president on X.

On the same social media, Esteban Lazo Hernandez, president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, recognized the workers of the electricity sector on their day, examples of altruism, dedication and commitment in the face of hurricanes and other challenges, of daily sacrifice and innovation for the welfare of the population.

I send a big hug and the most sincere recognition on their day to the workers of the electric sector, anonymous heroes, whose work is of vital importance to face the complex situation of the SEN in our country and to undertake its recovery, said Manuel Marrero Cruz, Cuban PM on X.

Since 1977, every January 14, the Electric Workers' Day is celebrated in Cuba, paying tribute to revolutionary leader Antonio Guiteras Holmes and his intervention of the ill-named Cuban Electricity Company in 1934.
