Cuba reiterates condemnation of US blockade on Human Rights Day

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 10 (ACN) Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the country, condemned today the application of the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the US against Cuba.

In order to deprive the people of their rights, the US applies the blockade against Cuba while accusing the Revolution and socialism of depriving its citizens of these, declared the President on X on the occasion of Human Rights Day.

On the same social network, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Cuban foreign minister, reaffirmed the commitment of the State and government to the promotion, protection and respect for human rights as enshrined in the Constitution of the Republic.

He added that the Caribbean nation is party to 44 international legal instruments on human rights.

Human Rights Day is celebrated on December 10, coinciding with the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which was approved in 1948.

Human rights are inalienable rights that belong to all human beings, regardless of race, sex, nationality, language, religion, ethnic origin or any other condition.

Currently, there is a list of human rights created by the United Nations, which defends the right to life, liberty, education, work and many others, which must be respected without any discrimination whatsoever.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights is the most translated document in the world, available in more than 500 languages.
