Havana, Dec 3 (ACN) Over 300 delegates are participating at the 11th International Meeting of I.T. and Communication Experts and Researchers (ICOM-2024) opened doors on Tuesday at Havana’s Conventions Palace.
The forum is considered the right platform to consider the role of information, communications, technology and culture, all aimed at the development of humanity. Participants will debate current challenges linked to political communication and Artificial Intelligence as part of an agenda focusing on four main topics: information, communication, knowledge for development and its impact on cultural changes in today’s digital scenario, public policies and professional training.
During the opening session of the conference, underway till December 6th, Spanish expert Francisco Caballero and his Argentinian colleague Washington Uranga gave two key-note lectures.
The dean of the Cuban Communication Faculty, Ariel Terrero, said that the island nation is currently involved in the implementation of a local Social Communication Law, and the access to information, two strategic actions in the information-communicational field.
The president of ICOM 2024 scientific committee, Deborah Torres, said that the forum will allow coordinating research projects with other academies from around the world and will also contribute to understand the strategic role of communication and information.
