Cuba Solidarity Meeting has in place its Organizing Committee

HAVANA, Cuba, Dec 1 (ACN) The Organizing Committee of the IX Latin American and Caribbean Meeting of Continental Solidarity with Cuba was established in Mexico City, venue of this event scheduled to take place on October 9-12, 2025.

Noemi Rabaza, first vice president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), thanked from Havana the efforts of the Mexican friends, who were presented in a virtual conference.

"Today more than ever, she said, Cuba needs international support and more and new voices to speak out against the U.S. blockade," she said.

She underscored the importance of these continental meetings of solidarity with Cuba held this year in Africa, Asia and Europe, with the Latin American and Caribbean event closing the current cycle in 2025, when ICAP will celebrate its 65th anniversary.

ICAP maintains relations with 1,735 Cuba friendship and solidarity associations in 150 countries, as well as with 459 regional organizations of peace groups, alumni and Cuban nationals in Latin America and the Caribbean.

On behalf of the Cuba solidarity movement in Mexico, Tamara Barra ratified the commitment to hold a successful meeting, which will address topics such as the fight against the U.S. blockade and for removing Cuba from the list of state sponsors of terrorism and the strengthening of economic solidarity with the island.
