HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 25 (ACN) On the eighth anniversary of the physical death of Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz, Cuba today evokes his legacy and example as a historic leader of the Revolution.
Miguel Diaz-Canel, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) and president of the country, said on X that Fidel, like Marti, is in every just idea and in every work of the Revolution, and is in the hearts of the people.
"No one says he is not there because he would be lying. Fidel lives among us. Even among children who were born after his death," the head of state wrote.
On the same social network, the National Assembly of People's Power shared a message from its president, Esteban Lazo, where he states that the best tribute to Fidel's ideals and his work is to make the postulates of his Concept of Revolution a reality every day.
For his part, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero pointed out that the Commander in Chief lives in every child, in every young person, in those who fight for a better world, in those who defend their country, their homeland.
"On the eighth anniversary of the death of our Commander in Chief, we ratify the determination to continue the Revolution that he led and that remains forever young," said Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC.
Salvador Valdes Mesa, Cuba's VP, stressed, also on X, that Fidel's thought and work will be a permanent guide in every step.
Fidel Castro Ruz died in Havana on November 25, 2016, at 90, and his remains were transported in a caravan throughout Cuba, receiving the homage of the people, for burial in the Santa Ifigenia cemetery in the eastern province of Santiago de Cuba.
