Cuban President celebrated World Children's Day

HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 20 (ACN) In a post on X, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel saluted World Children's Day and announced that he would meet with a group of Cuban children and teenagers.

“I will receive people who are very important for all of us here in the Palace of the Revolution: children and teenagers of a generation that lives, creates and faces challenges and shortages with the courage of their parents”, the President wrote.

In another post, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reasserted the commitment to protect children’s integral development and praised the engagement of all those who strive constantly to give them a better future.

“On World Children's Day, Cuba celebrates its achievements regarding the rights and welfare of our girls and boys”, the text remarks.

November 20 marks the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of the Rights of the Child (1959) and that of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989), which lays down children’s right to life, health care and education, as well as to play, to family life, to be protected against violence and discrimination, and to express opinions.
