Havana, Nov 14 (ACN) Participants at the second Digital Transition Fair, underway in Santiago de Cuba, suggested the use of Artificial Intelligence to empower local development.
Information Technology director at the Universidad de Oriente, Miriela Escobedo said that her institutions linked to her university are developing AI applications to address local problems and this includes the Medical Bio-Physical Center, currently developing human inter-phases, computing brain machines and the automated recognition of medical imagery.
Escobedo also referred to the work of the Telecommunications Department at the university, particularly in computerization and other crucial areas. She said that Cuban experts have not yet identified the full potential of Artificial Intelligence as a digital transition tool and for economic advancement, while there is low understanding of its use to improve the decision-taking process.
