Central Cuba hosts international conference on biodiversity



SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Nov 12 (ACN) Scientists from local and other research entities are participating in the 3rd CAGUANES Conference on Biodiversity, an international event designed to address issues related to protected areas and environmental conservation.

According to Norgis Hernández, president of the organizing committee, the main topics on the table include mangrove recovery, marine biodiversity, species colonies, ecological vulnerability and monitoring methods.

On his end, the journalist Máximo Luz, creator of a radio program dedicated to discuss environmental protection, remarked that one of the prime goals of the event is to gather research works that contribute to conservation and economic progress based on local development projects.

CAGUANES 2024 also features exhibitions of community work results and presentations about the behavior of biodiversity in Cuba, the challenges facing the conservation of natural resources, and the communication actions on environmental work.
