Cuban province to host environmental scientific event

HOLGUIN, Cuba, Nov 12 (ACN) The eastern Cuban city of Holguin will host Nov. 28-29 the Expoambiente 2024 event dedicated to socialize the achievements in the protection of the environment from community experiences developed in eastern Cuba.

Norkis Ochoa Aguilera, a specialist from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment (Citma by its Spanish acronym) and member of the organizing committee told the Cuban News Agency that the event aims to promote scientific and practical exchange among companies and entities.

She indicated that this edition, to be held at the Expo Holguin Fairgrounds, will feature three symposiums dedicated to the management of natural, business and urban resources and sustainable development, among the priorities of the Caribbean island until 2030.

The expert informed that as part of the program, an exhibition area will be organized for the presentation of products and technologies linked to the safeguarding of nature, as well as projects and experiences with significant impact on the economic and social sphere of the territory.

One of the main objectives is also a group of collateral activities involving primary school students, including participation contests, the sale of ornamental plants and the presentation of circles of interest.

Within the event, there is also a cycle of magisterial conferences on the legislations in force in this thematic, under the motto "The Law of the system of natural resources and environment: entrepreneurial, state and citizen responsibilities of Holguín", she emphasized.

Expoambiente will be attended by specialists, engineers, community actors with experience in the use of science and technological innovation for environmental protection and sustainable development.
