Havana, Nov 5 (ACN) Cuban Prime Minister and member of the Communist Party Politburo addressed a Council of Ministers meeting on Tuesday to alert that nobody should be overconfident amidst the passage on Cuba by storm Rafael, he predicted huge damage given the track of the storm.
It's better if we take extra measures than falling short in taking action in this situation, he said.
During the meeting, headed by the First Secretary of Cuba’s Communist Party and Head of State Miguel Diaz-Canel, also heard reports by top authorities in the western territories of Pinar del Rio, Artemisa, the Isle of Youth, Havana, Mayabeque and Matanzas, all to be the hardest hits regions by the storm, according to the Cuban Presidency’s webpage.
The authorities reported on evacuation actions, the protection of property, homes, roofs and boats, communication infrastructure, the early harvesting of crops, the marketing of foodstuffs, and the readiness of power generation clusters in different areas, among other precaution actions to cushion the impact of the storm.
