HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 5 (ACN) Havana Provincial Transportation Company reported the suspension of the boat service in Havana Bay from 10:20 a.m. today.
According to the entity's Facebook profile, the decision was taken taking into account the weather conditions caused by Tropical Storm Rafael and the danger it directly poses to the western provinces.
The company apologized for the inconvenience caused and suggested the population to use bus transportation.
During the latest report from the Institute of Meteorology on Tuesday morning, it was explained that the Tropical Storm was at 17.3 degrees North latitude and 77.8 degrees West longitude, a position that places it about 160 kilometers southwest of Kingston, Jamaica, 405 kilometers southeast of Grand Cayman Island and 670 kilometers southeast of Punta del Este, Isle of Youth.
Up to that moment, Rafael was moving on a near northwesterly course with a translation speed of 20 kilometers per hour.
