Cuba suspends classes in territories on cyclonic alert

 HAVANA, Cuba, Nov 5 (ACN) As part of the preventive measures in view of the imminent passage of tropical storm Rafael through western Cuba, teaching activities were suspended in all territories in the cyclonic alert phase.

This was informed by the Presidency on X, and specified that these are the western provinces of Matanzas, Mayabeque, Havana, Artemisa and Pinar del Rio and the special municipality of Isle of Youth, where the scourge of the organism, currently located in the central Caribbean Sea, is expected to hit.

According to the Cuban Institute of Meteorology (Insmet), this system is moving in a northwesterly direction with a speed of 20 kilometers per hour.

Rains, showers and thunderstorms will continue in the eastern and central regions, which may be heavy and severe in some localities, and later the rains will extend to western Cuba, Insmet announced.
