Havana, Nov 4 (ACN) On Monday at 3 pm, local Cuba time, the island’s Civil Defense Authority issued a Storm Watch (Alert) for all western territories from Pinar del Rio to Matanzas province in the face of the development of Tropical Depression 18, which was moving northwards to the South of Jamaica.
The information, released on Monday, reads that the storm will keep gaining intensity to first become a tropical storm and later could turn into a hurricane, and that rains and thunderstorms could start over the central and western regions.
The Civil Defense Authority called on the people to keep informed through local media, and official social media platforms and meet all indications oriented by relevant authorities.
The information explains that the Civil Defense Staff, the institutes of Meteorology and Water Resources will keep closely following the development of the storm.
